Gardiner Street Student Residence

 

The Kavanagh Court student residence occupies a corner site at the junction of Gardiner Street and Summerhill. The seven storey residence provides accommodation for 491 students with bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms contained within 88 self-contained ‘house units’ of varying sizes. The main entrance to the residence is on Gardiner Street where students are invited through to the landscaped courtyard via a double height gateway. All bedrooms contain private bathrooms along with fitted study desks, beds and shelves, large windows and all of the technological necessities of the modern student. 

Fit-out of the communal areas including management suite, study, cinema and seating rooms also by JFA.

Foley Street

A 140 bedroom holiday hostel occupying a prominent corner site on Foley Street in the historic Georgian north inner city. The building contains 8 floors of guest accommodation over two floors of guest amenity, ancillary uses and a landscaped courtyard

South Terrace, Cork

South Terrace, Cork was built in the early 1830’s by architect Sir Thomas Deane and is considered one of Cork’s most significant Georgian terraces. This project rejuvenates the 3 protected Georgian townhouses, Nos 31-33, and connects them to a new build at the rear of the site to provide 103 hotels rooms. Along South Terrace, the historical features of the Georgian buildings are all preserved - with the round Greek-Revival doors, their Doric columns and fanlights all maintained to form the main entrances. The front rooms are refurbished and repurposed to provide active, public reception and lounge rooms. At the rear of the site, a carefully-composed brick façade mimics the rhythm of the Georgian architecture, with a glazed base opening up the new-build element to activate Cotter Street.

Ardrath is a residential development located in Celbridge, Co. Kildare comprising of 352 units in a mix of semi-detached and terrace housing, apartments and duplexes, along with a creche facility.

Ardarostig, Cork

This proposed residential development in Bishopstown, Cork, is comprised of 276 residential units in a mix of houses, duplexes and apartments, along with a cafe, childare facility, landscaped open spaces, and a new pedestrian / cycleway.

Camden Place, Cork

A proposed 194-bed hotel project - prominently located on Camden Quay in the heart of Cork City.

The proposed scheme develops a derelict site into a high-quality complex the includes a restaurant on the top floor with rooftop terrace overlooking the River Lee. The design integrates with the historic Camden Place building, refurbishing the existing structure to provide public amenity space.

Glencarraig

Glencarraig is a large residential development on a 2.1 hectare site between Hazelhatch Road and Hazelhatch Park in Celbridge, Co Kildare.  It will consist of three apartment blocks comprising 115 apartments (54 one-bed and 61 two-bed), ancillary residential support facilities at ground level, 22 own-door houses and a standalone creche.

Telephone House

Change of use to aparthotel and refurbishment of the eight-storey Telephone House building on Marlborough St, Dublin 1.

The development includes revisions to and refurbishment of the elevations, including new façade treatment to Telephone House.

The proposed aparthotel will accommodate 290 bedrooms and suites, and will include associated facilities such as a gym, a cycle store and a café/restaurant at ground floor level.

Brickfield Drive

The Brickfield Drive Development is mixed use scheme of 282 no. apartment units across 4 no. blocks situated on the former Eason’s Warehouse site off Brickfield Drive. The public functions of the scheme - the creche, gym and café – are all situated adjacent to Brickfield Road to activate the space, while the massing of the blocks gradually steps up deeper into the site, providing a dramatic backdrop to Brickfield Park.

Kilkenny Hotel

Planning permission has been granted for the development of a 114-bed hotel, to include a public bar and restaurant, at the corner of Wolfe Tone Street and John’s Green, Kilkenny. The site is bounded by a disused railway viaduct to the northeast, John’s Green to the southeast, Wolfe Tone Street to the southwest, and an existing medical centre to the northwest.  A former hospital on the site is a Protected Structure and will be refurbished as part of the new hotel.
